Cash on Delivery (COD) Policy

This Cash on Delivery (COD) Policy outlines the terms and conditions for placing and processing COD orders on Starwatt’s e-commerce platform. We aim to provide a secure and convenient shopping experience while ensuring operational efficiency. By opting for COD, you agree to the following terms, which complement our Refund and Returns Policy.

  1. COD Eligibility
  • Availability: COD is available for select pin codes across India, depending on our logistics partners’ serviceability. Check COD availability by entering your pin code at checkout.
  • Minimum Order Value: The minimum order value for a COD order is ₹1,000 (excluding taxes and shipping charges). Orders below this amount will be canceled or require conversion to prepaid.
  • Maximum Order Value: COD orders are capped at ₹50,000 (including taxes and shipping charges) to ensure safe handling and logistics feasibility.
  • Order Restrictions: Only one COD order will be processed at a time per customer. Additional COD orders will not be processed until the previous COD order is delivered or returned to us.

  1. COD Charges
  • Handling Fee: A non-refundable COD handling fee, determined by the courier partner, will be applied to all COD orders. This fee will be displayed at checkout before order confirmation.
  • Transparency: The total order amount, including product cost, taxes, shipping charges, and COD fee, will be clearly shown at the time of order placement.

  1. Order Verification
  • Confirmation Process: To prevent fraudulent orders, COD orders may undergo verification, including:
    • OTP Verification: For orders above ₹1,500, an OTP will be sent via SMS or WhatsApp to confirm the order before dispatch.
    • Automated Calls: A confirmation call may be made to verify the customer’s intent to receive the order.
    • Address Validation: We reserve the right to verify the delivery address to ensure it is valid and deliverable.
  • Fraud Prevention: COD orders from customers or regions with a history of high Return to Origin (RTO) rates or fraudulent activity may be declined.

  1. Delivery and Payment
  • Delivery Timeline: COD orders are delivered within the estimated timeline provided at checkout, subject to courier partner serviceability and regional logistics conditions.
  • Payment: Customers must pay the exact amount in cash to the delivery agent. Select courier partners may offer digital payment options (e.g., UPI or card) at delivery, subject to availability.
  • Inspection: Customers may inspect the product for visible damage or discrepancies before payment, as per the terms outlined in our Refund and Returns Policy.
  • Refusal of Delivery: If a customer refuses delivery without a valid reason (e.g., product mismatch or damage), the order will be marked as Return to Origin (RTO), and future COD privileges may be restricted.

  1. Non-Delivery or Unserviceable Pin Codes
  • Notification: If COD is unavailable for your pin code, we will notify you within 24 hours of order placement via phone, SMS, or email. You may:
    • Convert the order to prepaid using available payment methods (e.g., UPI, card, or net banking).
    • Cancel the order without additional charges.
  • Order Tracking: Track your COD order status on our website or by contacting customer support.

  1. Customer Responsibilities
  • Accurate Information: Provide accurate delivery address and contact details. Incorrect information may lead to delivery delays or order cancellation.
  • Availability: Ensure you or an authorized representative is available at the delivery address to receive the order and make payment.
  • Payment Readiness: Have the exact payment amount ready in cash (or digital payment, if applicable) to avoid delivery delays.

  1. Fraud and Risk Mitigation
  • High-Risk Areas: We may disable COD for specific pin codes or customers based on historical RTO or fraud data.
  • Order Limits: To minimize fraud, we may limit COD orders to one per customer or household per week.
  • Blacklisting: Customers repeatedly refusing COD deliveries without valid reasons or engaging in fraudulent activities may be restricted from using COD services.
